5th January 2008:

Welcome to my Homepage.

This site is dedicated to providing info about myself and what I get up to.

So what's been going on during the last year? During 2007 I edited three DVDs, 'Beryl's Party', 'Nick's Stag' and 'Work Hard, Play Hard 2'. The latter one is already being re-edited due to more material having become available, so version 2 will be out at some point during 2008. The cover for the existing version is down below.

Plans for 2008...

  • Good news chums, your two favourites are joining forces! Well, what that means is that just about everything on this web site is moving to www.hrvt.net, (currently used for me photos / graphic designs), in order that I can utilise all the extra space / utilities that I have access to from that other web site.          I've started to get all the pages for both existing sites ready for the transfer, updating all the links and so on, but it's not taking me as long as I expected so I'd imagine that the actual transfer will take place during Sunday 13th January (if not sooner).

  • YouTube and MySpace may well feature in the future, with the odd video or two appearing there for wider access. Holiday stuff, acting stuff, yes, that all sounds good to me.

  • I aim to re-edit my 'Based In Manhattan' video and finally get it onto DVD: I aim to add in a new section, add in a few extra pictures generally and improve / alter the soundtrack. I've been wanting to do this for some time but am finally going to do it.

  • Also overdue is a video of the trips my friend James and I have taken to Portmeirion, using footage/photos taken since 1989 onwards. I aim to really get stuck into this in 2008. I suspect that one is going to take some time.

Below are the links to most of the sections/pages of my site.

More news as it happens!

28th December 2007:

Welcome to my Homepage.

This site is dedicated to providing info about myself and what I get up to.

For those still waiting to get a Christmas card off me this year I can finally say that I haven't written any out, or designed any, or bought any. Next year!

This is my first ramblings of the year and as you can see, the year is almost over.

So what's been going on this year? This year I have edited three DVDs, 'Beryl's Party', 'Nick's Stag' and 'Work Hard, Play Hard 2'. The latter one is already being re-edited due to more material having become available, so version 2 will be out at some point in 2008. The cover for the existing version is down below.

  • Website updating: minor tinkering / reorganisation of the site is needed, including updating some of the content of the site. I suspect this will be one of the first things I will do.
  • This website may be permanently moving to another URL at some point during 2008 and I will keep you posted on any news regarding that....

17th December 2006:

Welcome to my Homepage.

This site is dedicated to providing info about myself and what I get up to.

For those still waiting to get a Christmas card off me this year I can finally say that this year's card has finally been designed and is being printed. I just need to fill them out!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, or, if you're reading this in 2007 and I've yet to update this page, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

25th November 2006:

Welcome to my Homepage.

This site is dedicated to providing info about myself and what I get up to.

Further down the page is the cover to me latest DVD, a wedding that I filmed for a very nice couple.

Below are the links to most of the sections/pages of my site.

Apologies to those people who have emailed me recently in relation to this website, and who I've yet to reply back to: I aim to do so shortly.

28th May 2006:

Welcome to my Homepage.

This site is dedicated to providing info about myself and what I get up to.

Copies of me latest DVD, 'Work Hard, Play Hard', will start to go out to family and friends in the next few days. It contains three new videos (a Christmas one, a sports one and a general one). It also contains two other Christmas ones that have already appeared on previous disks. The whole disk is about social occasions/events that I have attended.

The DVD cover to 'Work Hard, Play Hard' can be found further below.

2nd March 2006:

Sad news that one of may favorite actors Jack Wild has died from the effects of mouth cancer.

He played the Artful Dodger in Lionel Bart's 'Oliver!' but also starred in another film with 'Oliver!' co-star Mark Lester, titled 'Melody', which is my favourite film of all time.

Well done mate, you will always be remembered.

A few quotes from 'Melody', as spoken by Jack Wild:

"You can't have people raving about winners if there's no berks like you and me running round making fools of ourselves coming last: I mean, some people are winners and some people are losers".

"Don't worry, we'll have have the last laugh on this lot and him up there, we'll jack this school lark in, give old Dicks over there the old V sign and shoot off and do whatever we want to do: you mark my words, it'll happen before you can say Jack Robinson".

Dicks: "Now why are you here Ornshaw?"

Ornshaw: "Because you invited me Sir"

Dicks: " And why did I invite you Ornshaw?"

Ornshaw: "Well, because I couldn't translate the Latin Sir"

Dicks: "Why Ornshaw, why?"

Ornshaw: "Because it's a bloody silly out of date language do you mean Sir?"

Dicks: "And why do you thinks it's a... silly, out of date language Ornshaw?"

Ornshaw: "Well, because I couldn't speak to a dead Roman even if I knew the bloody lingo Sir".

A list of some of Jack's work:

Oliver!

Melody (co-starring Mark Lester)

Puffnstuff (TV series and a film)

Flight Of The Doves (co-starring Ron Moody)

Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves

12th November 2005:

I've started to hand out copies of me latest holiday DVD, titled Amsterdam. It contains images/footage not suitable for people under the age of 18. The cover for it is below.

My all-time favourite film "Melody" has recently been re-released on to DVD in Japan and can be bought from sites such as eBay. It's a fantastic film, I totally recommend it. It stars Mark Lester, Jack Wild (who both starred in "Oliver!") and Tracy Hyde. This release is in widescreen and is easily the best print of the film I've ever seen. The soundtrack is in English though there is a full-screen version of the film on the DVD which has the dialogue dubbed into Japanese. Find it, buy it!

6th October 2005:

It's been a busy year! I've edited quite a few videos so far this year: Venice, London, Our Family, a wedding one, and currently have a few other projects in various stages of production, such as Amsterdam, the DVD version of Taking What's Mine (which will have a few special features to it) and one or two others.

The big project I've got planned for next year concerns Portmeirion, which me and me friend James have been visiting on and off since 1989. There's tons of footage and photos for that one and I suspect it will be a 3-disk box set. It is my favourite place on Earth so it will be a very special project for me.

Coming soon-ish to this site will be the DVD covers for one or two of me recent projects and the odd photo or two of me (it is my site after all!) that I really like.

20th April 2005:

As of Thursday 7th April, copies of me new Venice DVD finally started being given out to family and friends. More copies will follow. This is a much-delayed DVD, being edited on and off since last October. I had hoped to get it out by last January but events overtook that hope. The cover for it can be found below.

Almost ready is the next DVD, titled "Our Family". This will be available soon, though probably only to family members. It will be the first (of many) releases to come out under me HRVT logo. The proposed cover for the DVD can be found below.

Future plans include DVDs for London, Amsterdam and Wales. The first two will be released via HRVT, the latter one will be released via HOUSE 4.

The USA trip/DVD that had been planned for this year is now off but may take place next year.

I'm already working on the next DVD, titled "Our Family". This will be available in a few weeks, though probably only to family members. It will be the first (of many) releases to come out under me HRVT logo.

Future plans include DVDs for London, Amsterdam and Wales. The first two will be released via HRVT, the latter one will be released via HOUSE 4. There are likely to be two Wales-based DVDs, released over two years.  This is a major film/photo project and has been ongoing as far back as 1989. The reason for 2 DVDs is the vast amount of material that has been collated over the last 16 years.

The USA trip/DVD that had been planned for this year is now off but may take place next year, (though the location might change from New York to San Francisco). It's a bit up in the air at the moment.

17th October 2004:

Recently produced DVDs/Videos are:

'A Short Trip To Budapest' (includes 'Torquay 2004')

'The France Trip / Barcelona'

The next one will be based on a very recent trip to Venice, which is an absolutely beautiful city. Coming soon to this site will be pictures from that trip.

15th August 2004:

Welcome to my Homepage.

This site is dedicated to providing info about myself and what I get up to.

I'm currently editing two holiday videos, one for Barcelona and one for France. These will go direct to DVD and will hopefully be available to family and friends by the end of September.

More news as it happens!

3rd July 2004:

Just released is my video titled 'A Short Trip To Budapest' and is available to friends and family. It's similar in style to my 'Based In Manhattan' video of last year. The cover for this is below.

This website got it's most visitors ever during June 2004, with 170 people looking. The most popular pages continue to be School Reports and MISFITS Homepage.

My friend Phil Young and I have released another video, this time of a show we filmed in February. It's 'The Variety Show 2004' and you can find the cover for it elsewhere on this page.

Those of you who have heard of 'No Devil In Wicca', the next production from MISFITS, and are wondering where it is, filming should re-commence next winter. The film will be directed by another good friend, James Spence and I'll be the main cameraman (and editor).

Coming out during August is a biographical book titled 'Terry Nation', by Jonathan Bignell & Andrew O'Day. I provided the stills for it and you can pre-order the book from such sites as Amazon.co.uk. It's published by Manchester University Press (ISBN: 071906547X) and costs £14.99.  Below is the flyer designed by Manchester University Press last year, for use in advertising the book. The stills used in the flyer were provided by me.

17th May 2004:

Welcome to the 5th birthday of my Homepage/Web Site.

www. hrvt. net is go!

This site is a collection of pages providing info about myself and what I get up to. It's been going five years and it seems the right time to (finally) get my own domain. The address for it is just above.

The new site will concentrate more on the art / graphics / photography work I've produced over the years whilst this site will remain to give background detail to myself. My 'Photographic Archive' has now turned into 'The Tim Harris Art, Graphic & Photographic Archive', and can be found on the new site. Lots more pictures / graphics will be going up on that site soon.

As of 15th May 2004 I've added a new 'Photos Of Me' page. Another recent addition is 'My Favourite Authors' and more pages will be posted soon (such as 'My Favourite Radio Shows'). I've also recently updated 'My Favourite Films', 'My Favourite Programs' and 'My Filmography'.

My friend Phil Young and I have released another video, this time of a show we filmed in February. It's 'The Variety Show 2004' and you can find the cover for it elsewhere on this page.

17th April 2004:

I've just about finished editing another show, 'The Variety Show 2004' and this should be released shortly. I may then start on a DVD/video comprising photos/footage that I took in Nice/Monaco/Monte Carlo/Cannes last year.

Coming out during August is a biographical book titled 'Terry Nation', by Jonathan Bignell & Andrew O'Day. I provided the stills for it (to be printed smaller perhaps than one would have liked!!!) and you can pre-order the book from such sites as Amazon.co.uk. It's published by Manchester University Press (ISBN: 071906547X) and costs £14.99.

I've just added a new page to this site, 'My Favourite Authors' and I recently updated both 'My Favourite Films' and 'My Favourite Programs'.

27th July 2003:

I've finally finished work (as of today) the DVD masters for two of my film productions, 'Based In Manhattan' and 'At The Fox'.  Copies of both had already been circulated on video and I've been pleased with the response to them.  The DVD versions should shortly be available to family and friends.

The next DVD project is 'The Bosleys - A Celebration' and hopefully the DVD master will be ready within the next month.   Following that will be 'Why You Should Pick Edward', a short film filmed by myself and Phil Young in 2001.  Other projects are in the pipeline and these will be revealed in due course.

Below is a link to a new site I've started which shows some of the photograghs I've taken with my camera.  This site will grow as time goes on, at the moment there are only a few pictures on the site.

18th May 2003:

'No Devil In Wicca' is a film that will soon be entering full production, there have been many delays for many reasons.  It will be directed by James Spence and produced by him and I.  It's a project that we've looked forward to doing for some time and it looks like we're finally going to get stuck into it.

14th August 2001:

What a busy time it's been recently!!! This is the first time I've taken time to write anything different onto this page since June, since when I have been non-stop filming/editing video productions and working on soundtrack CDs. The latest video (Kidlington Gala Day) is the single longest video I've ever edited (3 hrs 16 mins). I still have one more video to edit but I'm taking a little breather for now. The reactions to the videos I've edited so far this year (4 shows, an audition tape and a wedding) have been rewards in themselves for the time spent on them, and feel this is the best year I've known for positive feedback. It's certainly been a varied year so far.

In the coming months I will finally be filming/editing my own productions again for the first time since (effectively) 1997. This is something I have not done since the year my mother died and I have finally gained enough enthusiasm to return to creative filming. It is likely I will be filming under a different company title than either 'Misfits' or 'WHY'.

Talking of 'Misfits', 'Alter Ego' was finally released at some point in the last couple of months and it was very good. Hopefully there will be another Misfits production in time.

I'd like to thank the people who have been kind enough to send me e-mails over the last 2 months regarding the web sites: I've been pleasantly surprised by the reactions of people who have been led here, there seems to have been a lot more people looking/showing an interest this year. I try to answer all questions within a day or three so please keep posting your e-mails to me.

Future plans for the site: this page will be getting a slight facelift as I think it's looking too bland at the moment.

3rd February 2001:

Welcome to my Home Page.

Two of the main parts of my web site relate to the video/CD production work which I have been involved with, WHY Productions and MISFITS. Please take a look at these pages for which you'll find the links below.

The MISFITS site has finally been updated. There is a new page, dedicated to four MISFITS videos not previously mentioned on the site (Oklahoma, Old Time Music Hall, Platform Soul and Free 4 All). I recently redesigned the videocovers for all the MISFITS productions made up to July 1997 and there is a page for those too.

More news as it happens!

22nd November 2000:

Welcome to my Home Page.

Two of the main parts of my web site relate to the video/CD production work which I have been involved with, WHY Productions and MISFITS. Please take a look at these pages for which you'll find the links below.

I've finally begun work on the MISFITS site update. All the URLs have changed. You may not notice too many differences once you're in the site, the move around is purely for my own ease of use. Soon I will finally be putting up a page dedicated to four MISFITS videos not previously mentioned on the site (Oklahoma, Old Time Music Hall, Platform Soul and Free 4 All).

Northern Light is the search engine I use all the time now. (http://www.northernlight.com/). It seems to track my web pages very well. Alta Vista now seems to track my web pages rather well too.

So what are the most popular pages on this web site? In order, the three that get regular hits are:

1) Musical Youth Company Of Oxford (This page has become very popular in recent months. People are beginning to use the guest book there).

2) Misfits Home Page (There's at least one hit every day, although I put this down to people searching for web sites on the band "Misfits" and chancing upon this page. Still, a hit's a hit).

3) The Champions (Once again there's hits almost every day, although once again I put this down to people searching for web sites on either the TV series or game of the same name. William Gaunt of the TV series is reported to have looked at the page according to one Champions fan who contacted me).

More news as it happens!

Welcome to my Home Page.

Two of the main parts of my web site relate to the video/CD production work which I have been involved with, WHY Productions and MISFITS. Please take a look at these pages for which you'll find the links below.

The MISFITS pages will shortly be changing URLs in an effort on my part to tidy up my web site. This is so I can keep a better eye on what I've got on the site, and should make it easier to add/take pages down as necessary. I'm also getting in the mood to alter the look of the pages. One day I may even use Frames to display the pages though frankly the effort of doing so possibly isn't worth it. In the short term you may find the MISFITS pages being taken down temporarily whilst I move things around.

Although I have never registered my web site with any search engines, it has been drawn to my attention that my pages can easily be found by using Northern Light as a search engine (http://www.northernlight.com/). I have been using Northern Light ever since and I have been able to find things easier than by using my previous favourite search engine YAHOO.

8th July 2000:

Welcome to my Home Page.

It's been 9 months since I last touched this web site, having got entrenched in a prolonged bout of filming/editing. I'm now in the process of making some changes to the site again. In anticipation of this I have moved some of the web pages to a different server to give more room for expansion. Future plans for the site include a new look for all pages. I'll be going for a much lighter background. As ever, it will probably later rather than sooner before this happens.

Two of the main parts of my web site relate to the video/CD production work which I have been involved with, WHY Productions and MISFITS. Please take a look at these pages for which you'll find the links below.

In the last 9 months several shows have been filmed and edited under the WHY label. Just recently Phil Young and I have filmed MACK AND MABEL for The Musical Youth Company of Oxford. I hope to have a web page up soon with stills from the show. Another show will soon be filmed for the same company, and hopefully a web site for that will appear soon too.

I still have in mind to make a video production named STILLE NACHT but progress has been slow. I still need to find the right stock footage for a 3 minute sequence and I have not made much time for it in recent months.

Other news: I bought a new computer from Gateway again. It's got a Pentium III 700 chip, with 60 gigabytes of hard disk, 128 Ram and so on. It's much faster than the old Gateway machine (166 chip, 7.6 gigabytes hard disk space, 48 Ram). The 19 inch monitor is really nice too.

15th June 1999:

Welcome to my Home Page which has links to the rest of my rapidly expanding web site. Two of the main parts of my web site relate to the video/CD production work which I am involved with, WHY Productions and MISFITS. Please take a look at these pages for which you'll find the links below.

Most of the pages for THE MUSICAL YOUTH COMPANY OF OXFORD site have been posted as of 15th June, the link for which is below.

I have temporarily removed my Shania Twain site as of 15th June (due to a sort out of my web space), but this should return before too long with far more pictures. The link will be changed at that stage so any bookmarks would have to be altered.

As of Saturday 5th June 1999 the first pages of the MUSICAL YOUTH COMPANY OF OXFORD site have been posted, the link for which is below.

On Monday 31st May 1999 I added a Gallery of some of my artwork from both school days and beyond.

My Shania Twain site (link below) is rather small at present as this is the least important part of the site for me. Eventually I will be putting a lot more pictures on this site.
